Square Dance Levels – There are several levels of square dancing, which may seem confusing at first. Each level has a series of calls associated with it. Subsequent levels build on the prior ones. Therefore, you need to learn them in order. The order of the levels is as follows: SSD/ Basic, Mainstream, Plus, Advanced (separated into A1 and A2), and Challenge (separated into C1, C2, C3A, C3B, and C4).
The vast majority of square dancers in the world dance at the mainstream and plus levels exclusively. However, there are many in our club who dance at more advanced levels. Our club is officially designated as Mainstream/Plus.
Classes – If you are interested in learning how to dance, please contact us. We will start a class when we have a sufficient number of people signed up. New dancer classes are conducted every Wednesday evening at the First Congregational Church in Santa Ana. The cost is $10 per session. Click on directions for a detailed map to our hall. New Dancer Instruction will be throughout the evening from 7pm -
